Zach Tomlin for Mayor of Hampstead, MD

My name is Zach Tomlin and I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Hampstead.

Even though I am running for a political office, I am no politician. I am a problem solver. I am a local small business owner in the field of information technology. Troubleshooting is a big part of my job and we face many issues that require someone with the proven ability to resolve problems.

I love Carroll County. I was born and raised here. I am the fourth generation of my family to call Carroll County “home” and my two children are the fifth.

I believe that we are ready to make progress. Growing up, I never thought that I would run for political office. I do not think like a politician and I certainly do not like act like one. However, I have seen and heard things from our current elected officials that I cannot ignore.

We all know what the real problem is. We lack true representation. Out of the approximate 4,000 registered voters in Hampstead, we typically only see around 250 people show up to cast a ballot.

My challenger has been in office for almost a quarter century. Twenty four years is plenty of time to demonstrate your ability to make progress. Yet, I have lived in Carroll County pretty much my entire life and all I have seen is Hampstead deteriorate.

The endless construction on Main Street, the development of a toxic neighborhood that received the blessing of the incumbent mayor, and the closure of the beloved North Carroll High School.

We are at a tipping point in Hampstead. We cannot wait another four years to change course. It needs to happen now.

We need fresh blood, fresh perspective and someone that knows how to run an organization efficiently. We need someone that will stand up for us, the people. Someone that will listen to your concerns and take them to heart. Someone that will work on your behalf.

I truly appreciate the support that I have been receiving but if we want to win this election we are going to need signs, mailers, and other promotional items which cost money. It is not in my nature to ask for donations but I am running for office in order to benefit us all. Any amount helps and together we will help make Hampstead a much better place to live than it already is.
