Support a social enterprise - Hundiallika Retreat and Training Center in Estonia!
Estonia is a tiny green country in Northen Europe. In the most rural and quiet corner in South-Estonia in Põlvamaa county we are buildng the center for spiritual and health related retreats, buddhist practices, nature education and workshops. The place is called Hundiallika (Wolf Spring) Retreat and Training Center.
4 years ago I bought an old farmhouse. Since then all my free time, efforts and resources are dedicated towards fulfilling of my dream of the retreat center. When I got the place it looked like this.
As a first step we renovated the old stable with some help from many of my friends and some input from local rural development foundation - Leader Group. This became our first active spot - the schooling house and we have already had many fascinatng trainings and camps there.
The next building we have to renovate is an old barn house that will become our second essential spot - the place for accommodation, quiet meditation rooms and dining area. The old barn is in very desperate condition and must be fixed this spring.
This step would enhance our life significantly as so far we have operated in rather cramped conditions learning, sleeping and dining in the same room. Good accommodation, more relaxed dining area and added privacy would greatly benefit all our quests.
The estimated necessary budget for this renovation is 33 200 euros, and there is still 7000 missing to complete the project.

Why am I dong it all, why I’m devoted to social enterpreneurship?
As a professional nurse I’m deeply concerned of welfare and know quite well how important it is sometimes to take time off, relax and practice some mindfulness or even just disconnect from all the hustle and bustle and just be in a quiet place, in the middle of nowhere.
Each quiet moment we invest in ourselves will pay back handsomely with better health and peace of mind - the things we actually can’t buy from any store. In the other hand I know, that in modern society it’s very hard to take time off and quite often the importance of our own health and wellbeing comes last...
So I thought Estonia (and why not the whole world) needs a peaceful and relaxing place in countryside of South Estonia, which tranquility almost makes you believe in all old stories and myths about helpful nature spirits.
Many people who come to Hundiallika are those whose work is with other people - volunteers, therapists and teachers. We have had camps for youth volunteers, various retreats and trainings for teachers, round table seminars for other social enterprises, and health retreats for chronically ill people. All this is the reason why I want to have and continue having a social enterprise.
This form enables me and my associates to help those who have dedicated their life to serving their communities and may often lack funds to accommodate for their own wellbeing. With social entrepreneurial model we are able to continue with reasonable prices, frequent free offers, and fair exchange of resources.
