Eagle Scout Project: Rain Garden
Donation protected
The current state of the rain garden at Sears Park in East Hampton, CT, is not at its fullest potential. The unfinished rain garden includes dying plants, breeding mosquitoes, propagating weeds, little to no water, and allows pollutants to continue to flow into Lake Pocotopaug. To help improve the site, I would like to plant an assortment of native plants in the garden, not just to help with the water flow, but also to help build a habitat that would attract butterflies and other beneficial wildlife. In addition, I would like to post an informational sign explaining to spectators what the rain garden is and how it benefits our community.
In order to make this project a reality, I am asking for financial support. I have estimated the project will cost approximately $1,500. If you are willing and able to make a donation in any amount to my project, I would be most appreciative.
