Metuchen Memorial Park Renovation
My name is Ethan Wolfe, and I am a prospective Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 74. I would like to renovate the Metuchen Memorial Park, and I need your help to do it.
It is my belief that the Metuchen Memorial Park has a tremendous potential to be a place for reflection and rest, however the Park is not as conducive to this as it could be. The benches are not in the best of shape, and some of them are directed away from the memorial. I would like to refurbish the four concrete/wood benches and reposition them in a newly designated seating area. It is my hope that this project will increase the parks usage and, therefore, awareness of the sacrifices that Metuchen residents have made for the freedoms of this great country.
I come from a family who has served this country for three genereations. I grew up a miltary brat and I have been able to witness firsthand the incredible sacrifices servicemen and women make for this country, and I would like to be able to repay them with this small gesture.
The funds raised will go directly towards supplies, equiptment, and food for the (free) labourers. In accordance with the Boy Scouts of America's requirements, these funds are being raised in the name of the Borough of Metuchen, and any money excceding the cost of the project will be given to the city.
Any donation towards this project, large or small, would be greatly appreciated!
Just wanted to give a quick update with where we are with the project... we're done! Thank you all so much for the support. Although the original cost of the project was estimated to be $2,375, through the luck of some lower prices, over estimates, and some minor cuts to the project, we were able to bring the cost down to $954!
I've attached some photos so you can check out all the hard work the volunteers put in, and so you can see how your donation was used. Thank you all so much, as this project could have never been done without you.
