Dear friends,

You all have enjoyed our unique fare and our friendly and personal service for the last four years. We love to cook for you and are enjoying the smiles we are putting on your faces. Sadly, we are at a point, where we cannot go on without some major help from you.

This past year we have experienced several personal and professional setbacks.  Besides a number of other trying issues, our truck's engine has finally died on us! Now, we need to raise $15,000.00 in order to fix the truck, take care of insurance, permits and other costs to get back on the road.

While everyone  experiences tough luck from time to time, we have certainly had our share. We can handle the grief of coping with some personal tragedies in our life, we just can't handle the bills that are stacking up, regardless if we are on the road or not.

The Bratwurst King is a family owned and operated business and our family loves to continue to please you and your family as well! Please help us to continue our dream and give what you are able to, so we can keep cooking for you.

Unlike a traditional fundraiser where you simply donate, we consider your gift a preorder of your next meal. Once we are up and running again, any donation of at least $15.00, entitles you to a free meal and drink at the truck. Just bring by your proof of donation.

For those who are able and willing to give more, please see our different reward levels. Thank you again for your kindness and help!

Hello again friends,

Mixed bag of news: the truck is up and running again, but has been in the shop for the umpteenth time this year. The latest repairs for a complete break system replacement, various electrical issues and failure of our hood ventilation system has set us back another 2K.

BUT: as you have probably seen, we have made it to a few events on the weekends at least and will continue to do so until all the others problems have been solved. It was great to see may at you at our relaunch party and then at the Lovettsville Oktoberfest this last weekend.

Once we are fully operational, we will be engaging in our lunch services and weekday brewery visits again too. Thank you all so much for your support and patience, we are so very much looking forward to serving you more frequently again.

NOW, since we were not comfortable to schedule any of the award catering events due the some uncertainties on the truck's reliability until now, we would love to see you at our very own Oktoberfest this coming weekend. This will be a three day party, starting on Saturday evening (late start with 9:00 PM this time, since we are having another event during the day) with the official Oktoberfest, followed by Frühschoppen on Sunday, and concluding with Blauer Montag on Monday.

I do have most of your emails, but noticed that some of you decided to not provide one to gofundme. Please send us a note to thebratwurstking@gmail.com, so we can send you more details about our planned activities.

This is all for now. We will all see you all sooner or later and are looking forward to it!

Thank you once more for your amazing support, both publicly and anonymously. We now have raised almost one third of our goal. We still have ways to go, but it is great know, that we mean something to so many of you.

The repairs on the truck are coming along nicely and we are looking to reopen this coming Saturday, September 12th. And what better place for our relaunch party than one of our favorite hang outs, the Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn.

Hoping to see many of you there! Please keep the campaign going too!

Dear Friends,

While we have not reached our fundraising goal yet, we have scratched together our own last reserves, combining these with your donations and are going to get the truck fixed.

We know we are taking a great risk in dipping into our emergency savings, but we are eager to serve you again and trust into your continued support.

Please keep on giving, to help us with our ongoing costs, every dollar still counts. Thank you!

It's been a week since we have asked for your help and your response has been great! Almost $4000.00 have been raised so far. Thank you once more for your compassion. We also love your comments and encouragement to keep going, and we are trying our hardest to find a way to make this work.

And while your support so far has been amazing, we still are far away from our goal. With close to 1500 friends and followers, a one time donation of just $5.00 would get us much closer where we need to be. And even if you are unable to give yourself, please spread the word about our quest if you so desire. Pay it forward and thank you so very much in advance!
Prost Mahlzeit!
