Indigenous Roots and MN350: Building a Climate Movement in Minnesota are partnering up to bring youth and families to Standing Rock!
Indigenous Roots is a 501(c)3 dedicated to promoting and practicing holistic well being as well as provide life long learning opportunities through the preservation of indigenous arts, traditions, and culture.
MN350 is a coalition of local folks working to combat climate change by building the grassroots capacity of the climate movement.
Youth and families from the Twin Cities have expressed interest in going to Standing Rock to support and stand in solidarity against the Dakota Access Pipeline, but need assistance in getting there. Indigenous Roots is organizing a Youth Caravan from Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2.
Twin Cities Youth on this caravan will be meeting with high school students from Selfridge High School and volunteering throughout the weekend to give the main volunteers a break for some much needed self-care and bodywork that will be provided by bodyworkers and healers from the Twin Cities.
Funds raised will go towards transporation (charter bus) and supplies for the youth as well as donations for Standing Rock.
