"Mount Everest is not just the highest mountain in the world, it's my childhood dream"
My names Josh from Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. I'm currently planning an expedition to climb Mount Everest in 2019 and complete my childhood dream of summiting the highest mountain in the world. But I am in need of some help!
I will be the attempting to summit Everest (8848m) Plastic Free to combat the challenge of plastic addiction and our reliance on a product that is killing the planet. We have over 8 billion tonnes of plastic in circulation and more than 300 million tonnes in our oceans. We need to turn off this plastic tap and with my expedition to Everest, I will be showing that if you can reach the top of the world without plastic, you can do any task in absence of the polymeric material.
As part of my expedition training I have spent the last 6 years dedicating my life in preparation for the hardships that lay ahead. I have summited the highest mountains in Bolivia, Russia, Africa, and the UK, along with intensive Scottish and Norwegian winter courses. I have battled the Welsh 3000's, Yorkshire 3 peaks and National 3 lakes challenge all in preparation for Everest. Last year I successfully completed Ironman Zurich Switzerland, coming 18th in my age category. I've been through the lowest lows in order for me to enjoy the highest highs and now I feel ready to undertake my biggest feat to date and kickstart a change in the way we look at plastic.
All these expeditions take a lot of energy, time and resources to organise. I'm in need of exposure, sponsors and financial support for this to become a reality, I'm hoping you can help me get there!
