MoJo's Medical Fund

Donation protected
MoJo came to Mit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue on Thursday November 19th.  His back leg had a splint on it.  We could see that he had chewed on it.  Such a super sweet boy, maybe 2 years old.  We took him to the vet on Friday and he took the splint off, his leg had a few open sores on it, don't know if it was from the splint rubbing or how his leg was injured (which we don't know anything about).  He was ,we could tell, in extreme pain.  The vet took x-rays and put a cast on his leg.  As far as this vet figured, it did look broken, but could be more to it.  This vet didn't do ortho surgery, so we took him to another vet.  The following is an update from Mojo's foster mom, Kathy.

Mojo update: Friday November 27th
Today I had him at the vet again. They put him under to take his cast off and examine his leg. They took more x-rays.
I also asked them about neutering him while he was under so they did that too.
A friend felt a small lump on him yesterday by his spine so I showed them that. I had felt a smaller similar one on him when I got him but thought maybe it was a scab.
They still aren't sure what to do about his leg so they are sending his x-rays to a third vet at animal referral (actually 4th if you count Chicago). We will know more next week about that.
When I picked him up he had a new cast and the poor guy has a big incision from the neuter cuz he had the more complicated cryptorchid (retained testicle). They removed the lump on him but then my daughter noticed they removed the smaller one not the 1 I showed the girl lol.
He has to go back on Tuesday and get his cast changed again. They have to put him under every time they change his cast. They can't just leave it on because he has open wounds and might get infection. He is on antibiotics and pain meds.
He has staples on his neuter and lump removal so has to go back in 12 days to get those out.
I bought a gate to go between my kitchen and living room so he's in the living room getting some rest on his big bed my daughter made for him. I also got him a comfy cone cuz he's going to be a cone boy for quite awhile. He has alot of restrictions but has been really good and doesn't mind being confined to the living room so far.
So, we have to wait until this Tuesday Dec 1st to find out about MoJo's leg and the lump they missed.
Any money that is raised will go to pay for MoJo's raising vet bills and if there is an overage, we will use it for other rescued German Shepherd Dogs.
Saving the German Shepherd Dogs are most important to us as they are smart, loyal, and a beautiful breed.
Mit Liebe GSD Rescue will be so thankful for the donations for MoJo as we are a non profit organization and depend fully on donations and the many fundraisers that we do a year.
