Our lives have been nothing short of exciting since Grayson made his entry into this great big world. Grayson has been fighting a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome every day of his infant life. The only “fix” to HLHS is 3 open heart surgeries. After his first at three days old we watched him overcome substantial obstacles and thrive afterwards. We came in for his 2nd of the 3 on the 8th of May, and his little half of a heart was damaged in the operation. Our little boys heart stopped beating, he was given CPR, he was placed on ECMO, and we were prepared for the worst. Grayson’s only option now is a heart transplant. He remains in the hospital, in critical condition, until his gift of a new heart arrives. There is no timeline on when a new heart will find our sweet boy, and this makes things especially challenging for our family. The expenses of being away from home has taken a toll on our family. We never wanted it to come to this, but we are unable to do this all on our own. Especially with no idea of when we will be able to return home with our precious baby. Any help is more than appreciated, as it helps us remain by our Grayson’s side as he so tenaciously fights his way back to our loving arms.
