Help Chris Trak Recover from Burns

Donation protected
On January 15, my good friend Chris Trakimas almost lost his life in a boiler accident at F.S. Edmunds Elementary School.

Chris has been a mechanic with the Philadelphia School District for 28 years and was fixing the school’s boiler when it exploded, burning over 70% of his body.

Since the accident, Chris was in a doctor-induced coma for six weeks and had several skin graft surgeries. He faces a very long road to recovery. It will take up to six months just to heal his burns. Then he may have years of therapy and surgeries.

Thankfully Chris does have full medical coverage. But when Chris finally gets out of the hospital, he will have a lot of extra expenses for physical therapy sessions, medical supplies and more. While Chris is in the hospital, his wife Michelle isn’t working because she is there by his side.

Chris is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He is guy you can always count on to help. Now he is the one who needs our help.

We are all praying that Chris recovers soon and gets back to what he loves most: spending time with his family and the outdoors. Chris is a devoted family man and is loved and respected by his co-workers and fellow union members. Chris is a stand-up guy who deserves all the support we can give him and his family.

Thank you for anything you can give to make Chris's recovery as painless as possible for him and his family.
