Darnell is a fellow IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Brother that was working on a Wind Farm Project in Hays, KS along with 40 other IBEW Brothers. Early Monday morning on June 22nd, 2015, Darnell was on his way to the project from his home in Wichita, Kansas after visiting family Saturday and Sunday night. Darnell was almost to the jobsite, about 3 miles east of Hays, when his car crossed the median, became airborne, and flipped a countless amount of times. Darnell was taken via Med-Flight to Wesley Med in Wichita with life threatening injuries, a broken neck, swelling of his brain, a broken clavicle, and broken ribs.
We here at the Buckeye Wind Project and the Renewable Energy Group of Henkels & McCoy are asking of everyone that reads this to please donate what you can to aid in Darnell's medical funds and bills. He has been unable to work, and has been unconscious in the hospital since the accident.

After a long struggle in the hospital, Darnell E. Collins Jr. passed away in the late evening of Wednesday July 9th.
Thank you all for your support during his struggle, and please continue to support his family in their time of grief.
