The Long Family Flood Relief Fund

Donation protected
My 82 year old grandmother and my uncle, who has some physical and visual challenges, lost their home and its contents due to severe flooding from Hurricane Joaquin.  They did not have flood insurance.  They also lost their only car, which my grandmother used to transport my uncle to and from work as he is unable to drive due to his vision challenges.  Thankfully, they were able to get out of their home safely, but they have no belongings to rebuild their lives with.  They have applied for FEMA assistance and the National Guard arrived today to begin the process of gutting the home in hopes of salvaging the exterior.

I was hesitant to setup this page for financial help, as I know there are so many of these out there with so many affected by the hurricane, but a few people have asked if I had one that they could contribute to.  We are grateful for anything that you feel led to contribute, but most of all would covet your prayers.  My grandmother is the most godly woman I know and has been through so much in her lifetime (losing two young children 50+ years ago and suddenly losing my grandfather just a few years ago).  Yet, she continues to push forward, never once wavering in her faith in the Lord, or asking "why me."  I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Sweet pen pal letters from my grandfather to my grandmother while he was away in Korea fighting the war.  All drenched.  :(
