Kāko`o Haleakalā

Donation protected
Those who stand in Kapu Aloha and Aloha `Āina and kāko`o Haleakalā are here to stop the ongoing construction of the Daniel K Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST) formerly known as the Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST) by the University of Hawai`i- Institute for Astronomy and its partners in this project.
From the idea to place it atop our mauna, throughout the enire process of "consultation", Kānaka have voiced their strong opposition to this project and have had their concerns fall on deaf ears.
We believed that using the legal system to hear issues concerning this project would bring it to a halt while in the courts system. Unfortunately, it appears that our state Supreme Court and its current deliberation on judgment for a case against the DKIST project means nothing to UHIfA and its partners in their construction timeline. They continue as if everything has been done legally and with full consultation and blessing of our community.
We will continue to stand in solidarity with those atop Mauna a Wākea nd in protection of Haleakalā.
We ask for kōkua to assist this movement for logistics, building awareness and assisting 'āina protectors. Any amount you donate will go directly towards those Aloha `Āina protectors who speak for that which cannot speak: our `āina.
