The North Park Montessori Middle School students are hoping to become entrepreneuers! Our goal is to start a composting and micro-green company at our school.
We had the priviledge of learning about composting and micro-green growing during a field trip to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market. During our trip, we learned about the processes of compost production using worms and the process of growing micro-greens. We learned about the benefits of using organic matter to feed growing plants as well as the financial opportunities of such a business. The business will benefit educationally in a variety of ways. We will learn about the importance of hard work, accounting practices, economics, market demands, pricing and supply and demand curves as well as learning to work as a team.
So, for what is our Go Fund Me account to be used? In order to start our "company", we are in need of some supplies, including: tarps, totes, worms, thermometers, humidity guages, etc.
