Please help me.
Can anybody restore my faith in humanity?
Have not had luck with any other potential resources and am desperate. I am hoping that somebody out there can help me. This has become a real test of faith and I need your help.
Have exhausted all my funds and I desperately need to pay my bills. I have fallen behind paying my basic expenses and risk having everything turned off. I do not live a frivolous life. Nor do I drink, smoke nor take illegal drugs.
I turned 60 last July and am too old for some assistance programs and not old enough for others. I receive no pension, nor retirement nor any other kinds of benefits. The little money I get in food stamps isn’t even enough to last an entire month for food, no matter how I cut corners.
I have health problems that make it difficult for me to work and have not found any job prospects.
I recently went to the hospital because of a serious infection in my legs and almost lost my left leg. I am in constant pain and finally have it documented that I have congestive heart failure that contributes to the periodic cellulitis infections that causes pain and swelling in my legs that leads to them leaking fluid. I also suffer from back pain brought on by degenerative disc disease of the spine and have type 2 diabetes. My health is not good.
I have difficulty getting around and use a scooter. I am unable to stand very long and cannot travel very far on my own without needing to sit down and rest.
Have applied for SSI but have been turned down twice. I have applied again but it will take at least six months before they reach a decision. I have also sought legal aid in the matter.
There is no money coming in and bills have mounted up. I need to pay them soon or I fear I could lose everything.
There is no family I can turn to for help, nor a wife or children. I spent several years helping my mother take care of my invalid father at home. He had two bad strokes and was paralyzed on his right side. He was restricted to a hospital bed in the living room. He was also aphasic and unable to speak except for a few words. It was a very stressful time. Both my parents passed away in 2007 and the little inheritance I received has run out. I am afraid I may need to revert to panhandling but my health would not hold up to doing that.
If I can somehow turn my situation around, I hope to go back to school and continue my education.
Please help me if you can.
