Kelly's Young Leaders Conference

We are Travis & Amber Shepherd. Our 11 year old son, Kelly, has been nominated by his school to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C in the summer of 2016. This conference is for students who show leadership and high academic standings.
For those of you that know us and our family, Kelly is a very intelligent kid! He has excelled in school from day one. However, Kelly has struggled his entire life with making friends and being envolved in extracurricular activities. Kelly was diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and Bipolar disorder at a very young age and has struggled to find his place amoungst his peers. Any one who meets Kelly immediately sees that he is such a loving and caring boy. He is just the sweetest, most loving, and caring child.
When we recieved Kelly's nomination, we were so excited and so proud of what he has accomplished at such a young age academically. We quickly realized the cost of sending Kelly to this conference was more than our family can take on.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Kelly and other kids to go and see our nations capital as well as participate in leadership building sessions. We are asking our family, friends, and community to help us send Kelly to this conference.
Tuition for the conference is $2,095 and does not include any travel expenses to and from the conference. Parents are not allowed to attend the conference with their student.
