Homelessness is often an issue that people choose to ignore, many see the homeless on the street and choose to look away and to disregard their presence entirely. With over 116,000 people thought to have no permanent home in Australia, this is an issue that is quickly rising. The majority of homeless individuals in Sydney primarily depend on food shelters and donation services for enough food and water to get them by. There are hundreds of people on the streets, begging for food every single day.
So many people seem to forget that homeless individuals are people, just like you and me, who have been a victim of a bad situation. They are no less than any of us and deserve simple necessities that we often take for granted. So many homeless individuals today showed such a look of shock upon realising we were paying attention to them, let alone giving them free food. This saddened me deeply as I fully realised the complete lack of attention that others show the homeless daily.
Recently, I put together food hampers to distribute to homeless individuals along the streets of Sydney city. Upon seeing the gratitude that these people had I immediately knew I wanted to turn this distribution of care packages into a regular occurrence. In order to do this however, I will need help. Any sort of donation would be incredibly appreciated, keeping in mind that 100% of ALL money received will go directly into supplies for these hampers.
