Alfie's fight

On May 11 th my little boy was rushed to hospital after going to the doctors numerous times we were told he had a virus his sisters were also sick. Alfie was taken to hospital as his belly  had extended and was still very lethargic,pale and unwell. We had an ultrasound scan and this was the beginning of our horrific journey. We were told Alfie had a tumour and he was rushed off for more tests which took 3 hours in total. Doctors said that Alfie had high risk neuroblastoma stage 4 and it had spread to his chest,bone,bone marrow and skull.Alfie also has a lot of fluid in his face,legs ,arms and scrotum. Alfie was critical in the first few weeks we were told Alfie had a 1 in 4 chance of surviving  my world had been turned upside down.  We got rushed to Birmingham children's hospital where Alfie had a biopsy and this disease was confirmed our lives had shattered. Alfie has had 8 rounds of chemo , surgery to remove 95% of the tumour. He has regular injections blood transfusions platlets. Alfie has a long way to go including stem cell transplant,radiotherapy,immunotherapy. This type of cancer has an 80% chance of relapsing and if that was to happen parents have to travel abroad and follow foreign treatment paths this is the reason Iam fundraising as it costs thousands of pounds to travel abroad for treatment as a mother I have to do everything I possibly can for my baby. There is also side effects from treatment like secondary tumours, hearing loss, learning disabilities  and infertility any money raised will go into a bank account for Alfie  and used for further treatment if needed.   Thankyou for all your support.
