Andrew and Jody Landers, and their kids, make up an amazing family of 8. Quincy Jay Landers, is one of their 6 children, and he has had quite a journey over the last month, and will continue on a path of recovery, and possibly another surgery, throughout the summer. In May, Quincy underwent a major surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital to continue the repair of a complex birth defect. The original surgery and post-op complications required Quincy to stay in the hospital, with Jody at his side, for three weeks. The healing they have been praying for has not happened on its own yet.
Quincy is now at home, and he and his family are waiting to see if his body will heal itself. If it does not, Quincy faces yet another surgery. They may not know what the next steps are for several more weeks and another hospitalization could follow. Quincy requires full time nursing care, from Jody during his stay at home, and additional hospital visits. He is quite uncomfortable as he has many interventions attached to his body. Can you imagine the courage it takes to go through something like this at 10 years old? Can you imagine being the parents of 6 kids and worrying about meeting all of their needs, when you are unable to bring in an income?
This GoFundMe is being set up to help support the Landers Family during this difficult and challenging time. Andy, an extremely talented singer/songwriter, left his job last fall as a Creative Arts Pastor at a church in Olympia, WA, to pursue his dream of making music his full time career. He has had a ton of success and has been traveling and touring around the country. He is 100% self employed, and when he isn't working, he isn't making any money. Jody has had to take a leave of absence from her job to care for Quincy full time, while Andy is running around like crazy taking care of the other 5 kids and trying to maintain a sense of routine for them. 6 kids, 2 parents, and temporarily, very little income.
This has obviously put a huge financial strain on them, along with overwhelming stress. We would love for them to be able to take care of their family over the summer, and attend to Quincy's medical needs, without the constant worry over how they are going to pay the bills. Right now, they need to focus on their children. Let's help them do just that, by donating to the Landers Family Fund!
