HELP US BUILD A PLAYGROUND
http://www.mcfarlaneplayground.com
Mcfarlane Playground is located in a rural community area that has a field house, small play structure, outdoor rink and an amazing ball field.
It is equipped with an all season rink surface, field house, basketball nets and play area.
During the summer months the outdoor solid surface rink and ball field are used to host summer recreational sports for youth. During the winter, the playground hosts skating and hockey
The playground volunteers have worked diligently, and with commitment, to improve the site in order to offer recreational activities for all ages. The efforts of the volunteers has lead to the development and implementation of various projects and programs in the area.
To date, the volunteers have raised money to build a solid surface rink($80 000) area to provide all season play, installed basketball nets ($3 000), retrofitted the field house with rubber flooring($5000) for ease and safety during the skating season and have improved the landscape of the property by planting trees and shrubs.
The next project will be focused on building and expanding the play structure at the Mcfarlane location. At this time, there is a designated location, but, there is only one small toddler structure. The location needs additional pieces to meet the needs of all youth, including teenagers.
