Wilkins School Community Center website
Wilkins School Community Center (WSCC) is a 501(C)3 located in the East End of Pittsburgh, serving the Greater Pittsburgh area.
Since 1979, the WSCC has been a vital space in Regent Square, encouraging children, families, and neighbors to MEET, PLAY, LEARN & GROW through quality programs.
The building was opened August 9, 1927 and will be 90 years old in 2017! With age and loving use comes costly repairs and upkeep. Many of these repairs are in progress: in the past year we spent $28, 950 on the building.
Future projects are estimated to be $65, 185.
Urgent repairs include:
Pointing and masonry
External lighting
Roof
Driveway repaving
Floor repairs
Sidewalk repair
Water damage
WSCC operates with a working board of directors, dedicated volunteers and two part-time staff. We offer programming to over 50,000 people each year including affordable educational, recreational & cultural arts classes, low cost rental space for small, start up entrepreneurs, other community non-profits and individual members. At the present time, we do not receive federal, state or city dollars to fund us. We depend on a modest membership cost and DONATIONS!
Now we need your help! The costs for the repairs is very large and we will struggle to cover the costs with our normal funding sources.
Your generous donations will help keep the doors open.
No donation is too small.
