Dover Community Thanksgiving Dinner

No one should be alone on Thanksgiving.
How can you help: We are asking for help from the greater community to defray the costs to purchase the food, serveware as well as takeaway containers for the Community Dinner. Quite literally, every bit helps! Please consider a donation, no matter how small, to help us reach our goal. Any additional funds raised will be used to help those in need throughout the year.
Last year, we decided to open our Parish Hall to the Dover Community for a warm meal on Thanksgiving Day, and we were humbled at the turnout: approximately 100 folks were fed and sent home with an additional meal. Many in our community struggle with addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, and loneliness on a daily basis and the holidays can be particularly tough.
Spread the word: The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m at Christ Episcopal Chuch (State & Water St.). No one should be alone on Thanksgiving so help us get the word out!! We will have a fun activity for the children who are attending and for those who are young at heart too.
The Southern Grille (formerly Hollywood Diner) has graciously allowed the use of their commercial cooker for the turkeys. Youth from Ecclesia Family Worship Center will help serve and Christ Church Dover will provide the gathering space, desserts and additional volunteers.
