Hi everyone,
My name is Jeff "Siege" Siegel and I am a drummer/composer who lives in the Woodstock, New York area. I have been a professional jazz musician - now in my fourth decade of performance. I have performed and or recorded with artists such as Dave Douglas, Sir Roland Hanna, Kenny Burrell, Jack DeJohnette, Ryan Kisor, Ravi Coltrane, Arthur Rhames, Kurt Elling, Lee Shaw, Mose Allison and many, many more. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Music at The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music, Western Connecticut State University & SUNY at New Paltz.
As the recording industry has changed so much, I find myself in the situation where it has become necessary to seek out financing help from others in order to continue to try and release new music to the public in the hope of creating work for myself and my group. I have financed many of my own projects in the past but I now ask for your help in order to keep the music coming as I have run low on resources.
Now that I have successfully managed to release my 2017 recording “King of Xhosa (with generous help of so many of you) I have set my sight on a mid 2018 release date for the previously recorded music I will call “London Live”.
"London Live" was recorded with The Jeff "Siege" Siegel Quartet at Pizza Express Jazz Club in London back in 2010. This was the last gig at the end of a European tour with the band featuring:
Erica Lindsay - tenor saxophone
Francesca Tanksley - piano
Uli Langthaler - bass
Jeff "Siege" Siegel - drums
Contributions will help defray duplication fees, mixing and mastering, artwork/layout, fees to pay the artists and promotion fees for press and radio (I already have "million seller" cds - a million that sit in my cellar!) It is much better to be able to get the cds out to press and radio than sit in my cellar doing nothing!
I hope that the energy and publicity from this cds will help generate work for myself and the special musicians I am associated with in my group.
I realize how tight money is for everyone in today's world and how many deserving and great causes there are. If you are able to contribute to this small cause you will help in bringing what I regard some spiritual and healing music to this world. Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart!
