Sickle Cell Screening for Kenya
Donation protected
Sickle Cell is devastating and undiagnosed in many villages in Kenya. Many cases
children with sickle cell disease remain unidentified due to lack of sickle cell screening. Obtaining these funds will allow a medical team to travel to Kenya November 2017 and to mobilize the necessary the medical personnel and resources for sickle cell screening in TransZoia and Siaya Counties and other remote areas. We need money for the screening kits, administration and lab personel to complete the analysis. Due
to limited resources, we were able to conduct a limited number of screenings.
Since many children with sickle cell do not live to the age of 5 years old, this is very important . It is more important that we are be able to continue this work with and collablorate with Sickle Scan and the Ministers of Health in the areas.
The funds will be used for international travel, accommodation, mobilization, 200 screening kits, and administration.
