When Trans, Intersex, and Non-Binary people are under attack, what do we do?

SHOW UP FIGHT BACK!

WontBeErasedPDX is a coalition of LGBTQ2IA+ folks, cis-accomplices, organizations, and antifascist activists who will do just that. We will take to the streets, hold spaces, be loud, visible, and relentless in the pursuit of trans liberation, equity, and community defense. We will hold local, city, state, and national "leaders" accountable to these expectations. We will join forces with other intersectional movements and actions against capitalism, fascism, white supremacy, and all other forms of oppression. Through trust building events and networking we will build a community presence capable of mass mobilizations and rapid response to the growing threats from both state and non state actors. We will build networks of resources for non cis and other marginalized groups that are accessible outside of the constraints of capitalism and are capable of operating autonomously. We will actively resist and participate in acts of dissent against our oppressors. Trans rights are human rights, and we wont be erased.

November 16th Call to Action



Once again, the Federal government attempts to oppress the LGBTQ2IA+ community. There is absolutely no doubt that Trump and his cohorts believe they will go unchecked in their attempt to further oppress our communities. We will not be complicit in our own elimination. We are mobilizing as LGBTQ2IA+ communities across Portland and the nation to demand equitable treatment in society, and the right to exist as we are.

We will gather on International Standing Up To Bullies Day (Friday, November 16th), in front of City Hall at 4:30 pm to hold space for a noise rally. We encourage comrades across the country to come out on Nov 16th, and organize similar events in solidarity with #Won'tBeErased.

This action will be organized using St. Paul Principles

We will hold spaces for autonomous action from the community, and for people to come together with friends, neighbors, family members, coworkers, schoolmates, and other trusted comrades to plan peaceful direct actions. Bring signs, food, water, megaphones, and plenty of other stuff to make noise.  We will declare a national condemnation and explicit rejection of the Trump administration's reported memo arguing for the Department of Health and Human services to effectively eliminate the recognition of LGBTQ2IA+ as legitimate and deserving of Title IX protections, the federal civil rights law that bans gender discrimination in education programs. The implications of such a policy are dehumanizing, frightening, and severe. This is a clear attack on our communities and further instigation of far-right violence against non-cis people. These types of fascist policies are not acceptable. We won’t be ignored, we won’t be silenced, we won’t be erased. Join us for our November 16th National Call to Action! #TransRightsAreHumanRights
