Support 200 Street girls to go back to school

Donation protected
"I dropped out of Junior High School (JHS 1) at the age of 12 since my father can no longer afford to pay my fees. As a result, he decided to give me away to his friend, an old man in his 60s". "That decision did not go well with me so I escaped from my hometown, Walewale to the south where I currently work as 'Kayayoo' (head porter) in a bid to raise money to finance my education and for wants of a better life. I came here not knowing anyone or having any idea how life here would be. It’s been three years since I’ve been in Accra working as a Kayayoo. Life here is very difficult for me. On a good day, I make 5 cedis carrying people’s shopping items. I get 1 cedi for heavy loads and 50 pesewas for lighter items. I sleep in front of people’s shops every night. There were times I got raped at night by some miscreants who lives on the streets of Accra.I sometimes miss my home but I know I can’t go back because I’ll be married off. My dream is to be given a home and an education. I know I can make it if I just get the chance"_ Ubaida, 13, in the streets of Accra recalls her experiences. Available statistics indicates that over 60,000 of unfortunate girls lives under worst conditions in the streets of Accra, Kumasi and Techiman in Ghana just like Ubaida needs serious help to survive. The Purim African Youth Development Platform  and Sappor ARK supports girls like Ubaida to understand their legal rights through legal literacy training, livelihood empowerment training, and gives Sexual and Gender based violence information and services to these vulnerable girls. We believe we can achieve this dream together with your invaluable support. Help us sow a seed in the lives of these vulnerable girls for a worthy cause by donating handsomely towards this project. Remember without your support, these girls would forever continue to wallow in abject poverty, suffer torture and all kinds of abuse with a bleak future starring them in the face.
