We made our goal!!! Now we have insurance and we can move forward with some of the other needs of the march.

***** Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Ok. Good news! It’s not supposed to be raining on Saturday. Just 70 and partly cloudy. Not a bad weather forecast for our plans. Now for the bad news . . . Liability insurance came in at a whopping $2905.02 today.
Soooo, we still have to pay for permits with Redondo Beach which will come in total around $100 - $150 but I’ll get exact price tag when one of my extraordinary leads gets the permits in the morning. RB City Hall is closed Friday so we need the permit paperwork in by tomorrow morning. The permits require insurance. See where this is going? We have the ability to front the costs of just these two things. We just need people to guarantee that I can pay this money back. GoFundMe can’t deliver the money on time AND they take 3% of everything you see being contributed. (Remind me next year to not step into such a huge undertaking at the last minute when nobody would do it, ok??? Live and learn, right? )
Bottom line - donate, donate, donate!!! The $3300 is only enough to cover those two expenses and the march cannot go forward without them. If we don’t make it, you will be refunded all of your contributions with a sad face but at least I’ll know we tried!!! THANK YOU!!!

***We are working our tails off to get the needed liability insurance for this march. Unfortunately, the price tag came in at $776 today AND we were told at the end of the day that the underwriters want to take back their quote and revise it and I should get that number in the morning (Wednesday). I’m guessing they’ll increase our cost so I’ll keep everyone posted. But, without this insurance the march cannot happen. Dang it. We WILL do this. We will find a way to march! Just hang in there with me. And find some friends to help donate! And please keep in mind that GoFundMe will take 3% of everything we raise here.***
As we take to the streets on January 19th to lift our voices for the women of this country, we are going to need some help with funding for permits, liability insurance, staging and amplification, flyers, etc. Please consider donating. Every dollar helps.
These funds will be used for the Women’s March 2019 South Bay Los Angeles event ONLY. If we are fortunate enough to have money leftover, these funds will be kept and used for next year. I dream of a day in which a march is no longer necessary but until then . . . WE MARCH!!!
Transparency will be an active part of the fundraising process. I will outline here all of the necessities we were able to purchase through your generosity. Anything we are able to hold over until next year will be kept so they are not an ongoing expense.
