We are developing this event for all in Tucson who stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families -- recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

This event includes a local "Women's March on Washington" and other organizations joining together at the Tucson Solidarity Rally on January 21, 2017.

We seek funds for:

*Signs and Posters
*Set up/ Take down/ Clean up

In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore.

Thank you so much for your support!

"I grew up on the Great Lakes and recognize a seaworthy vessel when I see one. Regarding awakened souls, there have never been more able vessels in the waters than there are right now across the world.

And they are fully provisioned and able to signal one another as never before in the history of humankind....When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for".

-Clarissa Pinkola Estes

"There is safety in numbers, but only if we count ourselves outloud".

Dear ones-
I don't believe there are words strong enough or adequate enough for me to express my profound gratitude. I think I can speak for the entire organizing committee when I say we have been stunned by the generosity we witnessed tonight. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. We could not be prouder to march with all of you tomorrow, and to stand in solidarity with those marching elsewhere and those unable to march. My heart is overflowing. Thank you all for this tremendous gift of community and action.
With love in my very full heart,
Jen & co

Dear supporters:
This is a plea for support from you, our wonderful community. We have incurred some substantial costs due to the growing size of our march (which we are thrilled about) and the weather (which we are less thrilled about).

This afternoon, the financial team sat down over coffee and put our heads and receipts together. We matched up our expenses paid and our amount still owing. Many of our initial estimates were low and we had to go through our many receipts and plug in actual vs estimated. We were shocked to see that due to recent invoices, we have a $5,100 shortfall. I have increased our Go Fund Me goal accordingly. I have also attached a link for our budget below.

We need your help. If you can donate any amount, share this page via any social media channel, spread the word any way you can, we would be grateful.

Thank you for your continued support and patience, we are so very excited about tomorrow and honored to share this historical event with all of you.

Jen & co.

"I March to stand & fight for critical thinking in a post-factual world. "Science doesn't care what you believe." I March because we must save our planet from polluters, exploiters, & deniers of climate change to preserve our air, water, and land before it is too late for our children & grandchildren. I March to demonstrate concern for melting ice caps, rising seas, & depleted water tables, & to remind us all that science is our only hope for survival.

I March for Women's Rights. I March because of the bitter memories of lives lost to back-alley abortions. I March in tribute to my poor, struggling farm mom who told me the story of asking her doctor about birth control after her 4th child, & being told to "go do her widely duty" - this during the terror of the Depression years when the family was facing near starvation.

I March for my brother who died in 1991 in my arms at age 43 of AIDS, despised & sacrificed to the indifference & neglect of a system that refused to act to fund care & research in the face of a horrific pandemic. I March in his honor, to support the ongoing struggles of the LBGTQ community.

I March with tears streaming as I remember Charleston, Ferguson, & so many other places where hatred & violence has prevailed, and where Black Lives (do not) Matter, where rascism in all its overt & covert forms festers.

I March for the migrant workers in our fields, legal or not, bringing food to the tables of America, doing the backbreaking stoop labor that we refuse to do. I March for the Dreamers, caught in the Web of ugly rhetoric & venomous disregard for decency.

And I March for Action, for our last, best hope for tomorrow; that we rise together & prove that the principles of our democracy can endure".

"I will not stand for this orange presidency. I will march. I will move forward with tens of thousands of men and women in support of ALL women in order to empower each other towards a fight for gender and racial equality, for rights over our bodies, for social services—and ultimately, against sexism, racism, and supremacy.

And because f*** the patriarchy".
