Woman at the Gate: Feature Film
Donation protected
Woman at the Gate is an independent feature length film written and directed by Bianca Spriggs. Lodged firmly in the lane of speculative narrative, Woman at the Gate is comprised of four short films linked by a common theme: pursuing the definition of personal freedom. Set against the backdrop of Kentucky's vibrant landscape over the course of a calendar year, the stories of four women—Zipporah (a young woman in her early twenties experiencing her first true love), Savannah (a former dancer surviving on her own in post-apocalyptic Kentucky), Temperance (a single mother navigating her own abandoment issues), and Anita (a local activist who loses someone close to her)—intertwine to create a story-cycle of pivotal moments where their lives can either be thrust into crisis or lead to personal fulfillment. Featuring a diverse cast who play recurring characters, including spirit guides, deities, and community members, Woman at the Gate promises to showcase a side of Kentucky never before seen on the big screen.
