Housing Support

Donation protected
Hello.  My toddler and I are seeking support for housing to prevent possible  eviction. I found a place in May. I was in a hurry to get an apartment, so signed lease without doing walk through. The manager bragged about redoing the bathroom (it was okay), but failed to mention the destroyed kitchen area (see photos). The sink also leaked water really bad. I filled out the move-in inspection form right away and noted the damaged area as well as other problems with the apartment. I documented and too pictures.

Since May, the kitchen has stayed the same.  I tried to give manager chance to fix. I paid rent in June, but sent letter to managment company about my displeasure about the kitchen. I pretty much was ignored. When I would see the manager, she would try to avoid me. Finally,  three months later, a maintence man came and fixed the leak but the kitchen still looks the same. I decided to hold back partial rent, per state law  regarding repairs.

This past week I found eviction notice on the door. My court hearing is next week. I am hoping I will have good case, since the kitchen is still a mess. However, the courts are known to favor landlords more than not. I want to make sure my toddler and I have enough funds, if I need to put our things in storage right away and/or stay at a hotel or rent a room until I figure something out. Any funds donated will be used for housing. If I do win the case, the funds will be used towards whatever is required of me to stay in apartment. .

About me: single mom...in her 40's. i have undergrad/grad degrees. i'm currently unemployed. I've had three interviews this summer but nothing has panned out yet. Because of this my budget is tight, which is why i need a little support. i'm not sure if this retaliation, because i've been very pushy about them fixing the kitchen. i think manger is annoyed, because essentially the whole sink area would need to be ripped out and replaced. probably just easier to replace me, she's probably thinking :)

Thank you for reading and any help is truly appreciated.
