Dear Friends and Family,
Our beautiful little girl had a siezure the evening we brought her home from the hospital. We rushed her by ambulance to the ER and she was transferred to Childrens Hospital NICU in Boston. She has bacterial meningitis. We have been staying in a dormitory for families in Boston since May 30th. We found out a few days ago that she has permanent damage to three areas of her brain, the Basal Ganglion, Thalamus, and areas of axons ( white matter ) associated with motor skills. She is expected to have difficulties with her upper and lower extremities as well as cognitive function. Essentially its as if she has had a stroke in parts of her lower brain and brain stem. While we love our daughter even more having gone through so much with her already, it is starting to sink in that we have a very long difficult road ahead. It violates every sense of privacy and humility we have, to ask for help, but we love our daughter way too much to allow our pride to stand in the way of asking for help. In addition to your prayers, if you would like to donate to her medical fund, we cannot thank you enough. If you are not able to contribute monitary assistance please know your prayers, supportive shoulders, and positive thoughts are equally valued. We cannot wait for the day we bring Presley home, and can begin the process of getting her all of the help she needs and most of all loving her each and every day. We know we are so lucky to have her and we thank God for her miraculous spirit of survival and endurance. We pray that every family with a sick child has all the support, love, and hope that all of you have given us.
