Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
I am quite nervous about this as asking for support is not something I have ever done. I have always solely funded for the care I give to the horses.
I have been rescuing horses for close to 5 years now. Over this time I have developed a love for Standardbreds as they are truly an amazing breed and very often overlooked by people, thought of as just a 'standardbred'. I have come to know these horses to be the most resilient and loving breed I have known. They are always so willing to learn and please you.
I have been rescuing Standardbreds destined for the knackery. Most have all but given up on these horses as they have either been injured, mistreated or rendered no longer 'useful'.
Once these horses are in my care, I start them under saddle, educate them, treat any injuries and bring them back to good health. Once they are at this stage they are sold to forever homes where I am know they will be cared for properly. The proceeds of this are used to assist with the upkeep of caring for, and purchasing more horses from impending death.
Unfortunately, this has become a very costly thing to do and we struggle to pay for everything the horses need to be restored back to health.
But, this is something I feel so passionately about and I do not want to stop rescuing these amazing horses. It is so rewarding to seethem go to great homes and not end up as dog food.
So, I am asking for help from anyone that is willing. I would appreciate any help at all.
We have quite a large feed cost, ongoing vet bills for one of our standies who needs ongoing treatment, and many other costs involved.
For anybody interested, I am more than happy to keep you updated on all the amazing horses we have, how they are going and just how you have helped.
