Paris' 2019 World Challenge

Hi everyone my name is Paris; I am delighted to have been selected to take part in a school team to volunteer in a community project with World Challenge, which will take me to Vietnam and Cambodia in November 2019.
In the last couple of years, I have dedicated time to different causes such as, volunteering at childcare, making sleeping mats for the homeless, and various programs for children who have been affected by a negative home environment. This volunteering has opened my eyes and heart to people who are less fortunate. I found by nurturing and showing them that they are important, it made a difference to their lives. This motivated me to continue seeking ways to help where I can. Hence the reason why this World Challenge means a lot to me.
World Challenge is an overseas exhibition that builds life skills for young people to live a life of courage, kindness, and adventure. This expedition will expose me to some powerful, lifelong lessons about the value of life and the importance of giving back to communities that are living in poverty. As well as really embracing different cultures and providing me with the opportunity to live and work in a struggling community. The most rewarding aspect will be the contribution I will make towards building a house for a family, teaching English, or helping and working with elephants that have been saved from harsh conditions.
It is an honor that I have been selected to be part of this World Challenge, but there is plenty of work to do on my side, to get there. An important part of the journey will be to actively raise funds for the expedition. I am pleased to share with you that I have raised $3000 by successfully completing two sausage sizzles, selling chocolates and working part-time. However, I still need to raise an additional $4000, to achieve the minimal amount required to participate. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I am so excited to be given this opportunity and know that these opportunities don’t come often. If you are able to make a contribution big or small, it would be greatly appreciated as it will help me to help others.
