Wipe Out Mentor School Lunch Debt

We are raising money for Mentor City Schools to Wipe Out School Lunch Debt for this holiday season. This money will be used first to pay offing existing lunch debt which is $2000 and rising. Students who do not bring lunch and who cannot afford to purchase lunch are provided a yogurt and crackers as a lunch substitute.
We estimate that our fundraiser will impact 300+ children and provide them with a proper lunch without any perceived stigma.
Inspired by the similar effort at Stow-Munroe Falls Schools, we’re hoping to raise $2000 prior to Winter Break. Any surplus will be applied to any lunch debts accumulated in the Spring. My family and I feel very grateful to live such in a wonderful community and realized that with a little awareness and organization, we could wipe out existing lunch debt for students in need and provide a subsidy to improve lunch options for those very same students.
It would mean a lot to me if we could accomplish this goal. More importantly, it would impact and empower the students by exemplifying the value of community and the importance of community engagement.
