 See update below....
This is Kathy Dennett , owner of Wing Canyon Vineyard along with her husband, Bill Jenkins. On October 10th, 2017, Bill, myself and 3 dogs evacuated from our home and winery due to the approaching Nun's Fire. It was rapidly burning its way down Lokoya Road 1/8 of a mile from our driveway. Our 2017 vintage wines were happily fermenting on the winery porch but the skies were ominous with heavy smoke and ash. We are currently staying in a Napa motel.
On Tuesday the 17th in the afternoon I received a series of photos of our home and winery taken by a fireman and friend who hiked into our site. All is gone, except the rammed earth walls. I will send photos later....
There will be many expenses involved in rebuilding and site work and permits. This is the time of year when wine sales peak and we were hoping to sell lots of wine as the shipping window has opened and our distributors were going to stock up for the holidays.  We need the income to pay bottling expenses, mortgage, and our line of credit. All  our current Chardonnay, franc , Syrah and library wines are burned.   We would appreciate your support!

The Winery site is now cleared, so is the home. The debris removal company will spread straw for the winter and we will watch as the site heals and possibilities emerge!

Here is an amazing photo of Bills ATV! Looks like sculpture material to me.... wow! Progress continues on our soon to be rental home next to the entry gate to WCV. We are so excited about having a home and being back on Mt Veeder. A newsletter is about to be published with more news about Holiday wines. Thank you all!!

Well, we have made a little progress. Site clearing should begin shortly, we may have found a place to live which is close to our vineyard and we are checking things off that endless to-do list.... looking forward to designing our new home.

Wow, you all have been amazing! I drove up Silverado Trail yesterday. It was a lovely Fall afternoon, the air was clean with no hint of smoke, and the valley still so beautiful. In contrast the scorched areas were extensive, the hills black. It looks like most of the homes by the Trail were spared.
We continue living apart, desperately searching for a temporary home. I am sure something will come up.
