Will you help our mom fulfill her dream?
Our mom is currently enrolled in school at Renton Tech to become an Anesthesia Technologist. She is a hard working single mom who is in need of a career change. She was a dental assistant for 8 years when she developed pain in her hands, wrists and shoulders. She consulted a physician and after months of cortisone shots and physical therapy there was no relief. Later that year she had two surgeries on her hand and fingers to help relieve her issues. After she healed from the surgeries her doctor told her she could no longer work as a dental assistant.
She went to Olympic College to see about getting retrained in a new field. She has always loved helping people and decided she wanted to remain in the medical field. She has several options so she took the required pre-requisites for Ultra-sound tech and Anesthesia tech. In researching these fields, she realized that an Ultra-sound tech would require her to use the same motions as a dental assistant.
She has just finished up at Olympic College with a 3.19 GPA and is ready to transfer to Renton Tech. The car that we have had for several years is on its last legs and will not provide her the transportation she needs to get to school. She needs to purchase a reliable used car to get back and forth to school. She has had many set-backs, but she has always shown us that when the road is rough you cannot give up. She will not be able to fulfill her dream unless she has the needed transportation to get to school.
