Wellness Community Outreach #BYOBT

Hi my name is Edisha Brown,

I am the founder of: BYOB Training in health and fitness. My program was established in 2013 in efforts to help people take charge of life with regards wellness. After having spent many years in fitness and management of fitness companies garnering several top national career awards I decided further put my BS in Exercise Science and Wellness to productive use by giving back to the community with my own company. So the acronym: #BYOBT - 'Be Your Own Boss Training' in health and fitness has seen some exciting highs by working with the company specifically local schools where I registered with Prince George's County public schools system and did weekly visits helping students learn the fundamentals of exercise and how it not only makes one healthier physically but assists with confidence in life; let's be honest, life can be challenging but with the right outlook and experience those challenges can be hurdled and it starts with tackling things which seem difficult then trying again if at first we don't succeed. I also had the privilege of being guest speaker for the honor students of graduating class at a PG County HS in Brandywine, MD in support of the #BetterMakeRoom program on National Signing Day. My work was recognized as one of the top ideas discussed at The White House last year in my partnership with The Teachers Guild where I submitted my work in efforts to support then First Lady Michelle Obama's #ReachHigher Initiative whose purpose was to develop programs that help students find their passions and increase awareness on assistance now to eventually them get to and through college. I have also done a couple of news segments (FOX 5 and WUSA9) on family exercise and how it can bring happiness with use of inventive things such as a hula hoop but can also be done from the comfort of one's home if the space permits. During all activities I have my hat invention which I wore and many want the product!
