Reunite the J.F.K. Honor Guard

Donation protected
My name is Phil Singer and one of my interests has been learning about the circumstances surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy.  It has given me the opportunity to meet a great many people who have some connection the case.  After J.F.K. was shot and killed in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963, six young men in Washington, D.C. were chosen from different branches of the military to be the Honor Guard that tragic weekend.  They carried the coffin of President Kennedy over four days.  None of them could have expected what they were in for.  They reported to Andrews Air Force Base and helped unload the coffin from Air Force One into a Navy ambulance.  They carried the coffin into the Bethesda Naval Hospital for the autopsy. Then into the White House.  Then into the Capitol, St. Matthews Cathedral and finally into Arlington National Cemetery. They got maybe ten hours of sleep over the whole weekend.  The mahogany casket was by far the heaviest one that they had ever carried. These young men practiced in the dark going up and down the steps of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with a weighted-down rehearsal coffin to simulate carrying the actual coffin with J.F.K. in it up and down the steps of the Capitol building.  They couldn't drop it and it had to be perfectly level at all times.

The original six Honor Guard men are all still alive.  They are between 72 and 80 years old at this time.  And they have not all been together since the day that they buried the  President 53 years ago.  All of them have told me how much it would mean to them for a long-delayed reunion.  I would like to help them do this.  And I would appreciate it if you would consider helping me to make this happen.

Besides the unique opportunity of reuniting these men, there is an opportunity to record and document their story for history and future generations.  Should I be able to make  this event happen, I will have professional videographers and photographers present to record it.

None of these men are wealthy.  They all did their duty with precision, pride and honor to serve their country and the slain President as best as they could.  To make this reunion event a reality will require me to cover flight costs, as well as hotel rooms, transportation to and from the airports, meals, conference room, filming, etc.  My estimate is that this event may cost $10,000.  I wish I could afford to do this myself, but I can't.  Therefore, I wanted to see if you would consider helping to sponsor / fund the event with me by making any size contribution.  Should any documentary or book result from this event, sponsors will be recognized for helping to make it happen.

Thank you very much for considering this proposal.  I greatly appreciate it.  Additionally, if you know of anyone that you think might want to help out here, please pass along the information.  Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.  I can go into more details.
