We Love The Elm Café
Donation protected
Does it bother you that our neighbourhood coffee shop has been the victim of vandalism on 3 separate occasions in the short 8 months it has been open?
Do you love the open and inviting space The Elm has created for our community to share?
Wanna help?
As many of you may know, The Elm Café, on the corner of Montreal and Charles Streets , has had their front windows broken on 3 separate occasions. It seems that as soon as a window is replaced, it is broken again. The expense of replacement through insurance is prohibitive due to the high deductible and risk of raising premiums. This leaves Logan and Matt (The Elm Café owners) having to cover the cost of replacement themselves. That’s a lot of coffee!
Also, reluctantly, Logan and Matt have had to install expensive security cameras to hopefully deter and/or catch the vandal(s). At this point, the café is having to consider security shutters, expensive shatterproof windows or additional security cameras to protect itself against ongoing vandalism.
All of this has been a huge, unexpected added expense for this new tiny business and its humble owners.
This is where we come in! If you want to help Logan and Matt with some of these expenses please make a donation. Our goal of raising $5000 will help them recover expenses already incurred. Any amount above $5000 raised will assist the café owners in further costs associated with vandalism prevention.
Let’s show Logan and Matt our neighbourhood supports them and wants them to be around for a long time.
