We Have Jeremys Back: Harvey Relief

Since 1997, The Body’s Source has been helping Houstonians find relaxation, rejuvenation and revitalization, all at the hands of massage therapist Jeremy Runnels – a Houston native himself.

From working outside of business hours to accommodating emergency appointments, Jeremy has always helped in any way that he can. He doesn’t see “clients” – he sees a community – and he listens to the needs, concerns and stories of every person who walks into his office. No matter who you are, Jeremy has your back – literally. And that’s why we would be remiss to not have his right now.

In the unprecedented flooding and disaster caused by Hurricane Harvey, Jeremy was one of many Houstonians who suffered extreme loss. The water ultimately reached waist level within his home, flooding his two vehicles and much more. All those pictures and videos you saw on the news? That nightmare was Jeremy’s reality.

Still, even as others evacuated, Jeremy stayed behind and sacrificed, ensuring that others found safety first. And anyone who knows Jeremy will not be surprised by his selfless acts – he’s the embodiment of Houston strong. He contributed to the rescue of his neighbors, strangers and even four-legged friends as the water levels continued to rise from the release of the reservoirs.

Jeremy is not the kind of person to ask others for help, so I am doing it for him. Long after the sun graces Houston and the news stories stop covering the damage, he will face a long, difficult road to rebuilding. He will salvage what he can of his memories and belongings. And I hope that you will join me in having his back, and letting him know that he will not face this journey alone.


You can see where the water level settled several inches above the outlets for long enough to leave a trail.

The damage has been estimated to be upwards of 45k, so I'm hoping we can raise one-third of that amount to help ease the burden. Every dollar raised will go toward the reconstruction of Jeremy's home, along with ensuring he has reliable transportation so he can return to work.

Who am I? My name is Sarah-Jane. I'm from Houston, TX and I do secretarial work for Jeremy's massage business, The Body's Source. I created this page to support him as a friend.

Where will my money go? I have set Jeremy up as the direct beneficiary for withdrawals, so your donations will go straight to his bank account.

What will my donation be used for? 100% of donations will be used to help Jeremy rebuild his home including replacing flooring and carpet, repairing walls, cleaning supplies, replacing furniture, replacing outlets and wiring systems as necessary, inspections of air ducts, heating & cooling, sewage systems, electrical systems and walls/ceilings, mold inspections, and helping with transportation so Jeremy can continue to work.
