WE ARE PUBLIC MEDIA

WHO WE ARE?

Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation 501c3
was founded in 2011, and officially became a private foundation with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code on December 14th, 2016. Founder Lamont Jack Pearley and co-founder Denise N. Pearley felt the urgency to raise cultural and ethnic awareness of African American Traditional music as it pertains to the Black Experience in America. For the last several years they have researched and presented historical facts tying the heritage and culture that are the foundation of “African American Tribal Music” to being the products of two continents - Africa and America.

Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation operates as Jack Dappa Blues Public Media providing intellectual conversations, historical facts, and vital coverage of the African American experience that’s been shaped by our community as we work toward a more diverse media outlet by producing original content, public workshops and events.

Our mission is to celebrate our heritage and preserve Blues music, as we highlight the many events in American History that cultivated our communities and musical expressions.

Our Advisory Board is made up of a collective of individuals that represent our core audience.

Jack Dappa Blues Public Media uses broadcast journalism, film, and multimedia production to produce exciting, meaningful and historically accurate content that explores and highlights African American Traditional Music and the black experience. Our featured broadcast “Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Radio” not only plays African American Traditional musics that date back to early Black Spirituals and pre war Blues, but we highlight today’s practitioners of the music, as well as tackle the sensitive topics that relate to the African American experience from the past to the present. Engaging and interactive, Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Radio gives their audience the context in which African American traditions, culture and social environment has been expressed through the oral documentation of Blues, Black Spirituals and the like, that reflects the African American community and their different classes throughout history.

WHAT WE ARE DOING!

After long hard consideration and praying, we have decided to move forward and build our own online radio station. This will feature Jack Dappa Blues as a daily show, as well as 24/7 broadcasting of Blues, Sorrow Songs, Negro Spirituals, Gospel, Field Hollers and other traditional music of the African American Experience.

This decision is based on the amount of audience support, engagement and response we have received about our show. WE UNDERSTAND that ourAUDIENCE looks to The Jack Dappa Blues platform as a source for the celebration of African American heritage, the preservation of Blues Music, intellectual conversations, historical facts, and the necessary coverage of the African American experience as it regards to the tribal music and culture of the people.
We were always able to have call in guests, but with our new platform, we'll be able to have call in listeners as well who may wish to chime in.

Five times a week you will learn them blues, and hear from people in the communities that live the tradition, and fight to change the social, educational and judicial structure of today's blues.

The voice that we have been blessed with to cultivate and share with you has one main focus:

Our job is to serve the People!

The money that we raise will be used jumpstart and build our studio from the ground up.

The Funds will cover -
- the monthly cost of bandwidth and streaming
- licensing of music and insurance
- internet/phone provider
- upgrade in equipment; computer, monitors, engineering board, high-end microphones etc
- location fees to have in-studio guests

We've earned your trust throughout the years with great content and important interviews in regards to Blues Music, and it's predecessors, as well as Blues that effect our community and culture today and how we can resolve those issues.

As of now, we are producing and edting podcasts until we broadcast daily on our station and  iTune radio. All programs will be archived on our YouTube Channel and website http://jackdappabluesradio.tv/

We are looking to start immediately!! The Blues don't wait. We have a lot to cover and share in regards to today's Blues artist and music, as well as historic discoveries that are important to the preservation and celebration of Blues Culture and African American traditions.

I take this work extremely serious!

I love what I do to serve the great Blues People and the Most High, and I'm honored that you all appreciate and encourage my work! I'm beyond grateful that you trust me with the information I provide and can only show you my appreciation by continuing this great work for you.
