ArtPark -Waukegan
ArtPark is a historic park in Waukegan Illinois that was created by artist Jim Harrington. Harrington created the park to bring life into a dark alley. Out of all of his projects that he did in the city of Waukegan, ArtPark is the one that is continuing to live and thrive. After Harrington’s passing, the park hit hard times for many years. In 2016 the Cantu family brought it into their care and started bringing it back to life for the community.
As you know, there’s always a price on everything, that’s why we are asking for your help on funding the park! We have already put a lot of money towards the park for the past 3 years and it gets harder to fund something that is not-for-profit.
Our mission is to beautify and keep up with the ArtPark for the Waukegan Community and for the view of Downtown Waukegan.
Care for the park includes:
Paying for a landscaper (Cutting Grass, Weed Killer)
Buying plants/flowers for the season
Paying for water to water plants (No Faucet)
Buying solar powered lights/devices (No Power)
Others things that need funding at ArtPark are:
Halloween Decor
Christmas Decor
Paint(s)
Seasonal Decor
Yard Tools
We also accept these items in person wether they are new or used. The GoFundMe makes it easier for those farther away to contribute and those who find it easier to donate this way to use this form.
