Ward 9's Mobile Warming Center

Donation protected
27 unhoused people died on the streets of Eugene last year. Ward 9 is taking action to change that pattern. A mobile warming center will fill a critical gap in support for our community, and help make sure that no one has to suffer a cold night alone. We can and will take care of each other!

Your money will go directly to funding the critical supplies necessary to keep our homeless neighbors warm – from basic infrastructure like heaters, propane and a tent, to giveaway supplies like dry wool socks and hand warmers. We are all-volunteer organization, so no money will be used for staffing or other overhead.

Ward 9: The Homeless Neighbors Association began earlier this year, as a group effort to build power and a voice for unhoused and precariously-housed people in Eugene.

We are putting together a mobile warming center that can be deployed in the community when nights are cold and wet, but other shelter options are not available. This is no small project – we're going to need the community to really pull together to make sure we have the supplies and volunteers to do this. But we know we can, because we must!
