Walk for Thandolwayo

Donation protected
Twelve-year-old Thandolwayo would walk seven kilometres each day, threatened by crocodiles, to collect contaminated water for her family and her village. It looked like she would never realise her hope of finishing her education and passion of becoming a nurse, until Caritas Australia supported a project that created access to clean water helping Thandolwayo to stay at school and achieve a future full of hope. A team of girls will be walking 7km from Potts Point to Clovelly with no access to phones or food during the walk as we are taking a step in Thandolwayo's shoes.

Unfortunately this is the reality for many children in developing countries and as women of action we are hoping to raise awareness around the importance of clean drinking water and personal hygiene in a community.
Before reading and witnessing the living conditions teens the same age as me have in developing countries e.g parts of Africa, Somalia & Papa New Guinea.  By donating to this cause you will be helping an enormous amount of people in a community by getting them one step closer to a more developed way of accessing and drinking uncontaminated and clean water. All of the profits will be entirely donated to project compassion and Thandolwayo's community.

We plan to complete the walk this coming March 2019 and will be wearing  a grey ribbon to symbolise hope, something that everybody needs in their life. Sometimes we can get caught up in our own world and not realise ho fortunate we are.

All of the money raised will be donated to Caritas Australia through project compassion to help make life easier for children such as Thandolwayo. Each week we will partake in a series of activities to push ourselves to gain a deeper meaning of what it means to have hope.
Growing up in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs I am very privileged to have received the education I have and access to so many facilities that I take for granted such as coming home from school every afternoon, to open my pantry cupboard to baskets full of food, then having a hot shower before eating dinner, getting into my pyjamas and going to sleep in my bed.
