Wages' Legacy Baby

As many of you know the Wages’ family tragically lost their four-year-old son Paxton last summer. The family, their friends, and community have felt the sting of his loss deeply. Through Seth and Kaitlyn’s incredibly selfless act of donating Paxton’s organs after his passing, he has been able to save many lives through organ donation. His heart beats in a little three-year-old boy’s chest in Chicago today because of it. This has brought some good out of an impossibly devastating loss, not to mention the eternal lives saved of all of those that have come to know Jesus through his loss.
The Wages are struggling to find a way to partially heal and move forward in their lives and they can’t help but feel a sense of emptiness with Paxton’s passing. Their two older children Presleigh (7 years old) and Pierce (6 years old) have begun to ask if they could have another brother or sister. Seth and Kaitlyn were resistant to the idea because they know nothing will EVER fill the empty spaces in their hearts that Paxton once filled. They also thought there would be no way to have another child because Seth had a vasectomy and Kaitlyn is medically unable to carry any more children. However, one night Kaitlyn clearly heard the Lord tell her He would give her another child. She told Seth about it and he agreed that another child would help to give their family a taste of hope but he didn’t know how that would be possible. Seth put it in the most beautiful way – there is nowhere to place all of the love they have for Paxton, they can’t love Presleigh and Pierce any more than they already do (they love them at max capacity!) and they feel they have all of this extra love to share, with nowhere for it to go.
Kaitlyn was talking about what she felt the Lord had promised at work one day. Her good friend Amanda (that very same day!) approached Kaitlyn and told her she had a dream the night before of being a surrogate. It was clear that the Lord was already orchestrating a way for the newest Wages’ member to come into their lives. After a lot of prayerful meetings between Seth and Kaitlyn, as well as their family counselor, and tons of researching; it seems like it would be possible for Seth and Kaitlyn to go through in vitro fertilization and have Amanda carry their newest baby – a baby after Paxton, carrying all of the hope his life once held for them. The only thing holding them back is finances. All three of them strongly believe this is what God is calling them to do and trust He will provide a way. I believe through the love and support of our community they will once again have the joy of another child in their lives to love and raise.
No donation is to small! Just like the old woman who gave a penny, we believe God will multiply every single gift given.
