On September 18, 2017, the Caribbean island of Dominicawas completely devastated by Hurricane Maria. The Dominican people have experienced a disaster many of us never even imagined we would see unfold in our lifetime. The gale force winds ripped roofs off homes, uprooted trees, damaged power lines as well as water supplies and sadly claimed lives. After days of absolutely no communication with the Dominican people, the government and citizens have finally sent out pleas for help. It is heartbreaking to watch as every citizen of the Island were affected in one way or another, some deaths, injuries, while others whose lives have been spared have nowhere to go because their houses have been destroyed along with all their worldly possessions.
DACA (Dominica Atlanta Community Association), a nonprofit organization registered with the state of Georgia, created to help with humanitarian efforts, have an obligation to reach out to the people of Dominica and assist in any way that we can. Due to our limited resources, we cannot do this alone.
Your donation will be very much appreciated no matter how big or small. All proceeds will go towards assisting Hurricane Victims in Dominica.
