Roberts Ironman challenge for Nepal

Tenby Wales Ironman - September 13th 2015
This year I will be competing in the Ironman challenge for third successive year. It has been a challenge to keep in one piece, but I believe I am on course for to achieve a personal best (or close to it!). To do this I need to pip below 12 hours and 34 Minutes.
Last year I raised money for the Alzheimers Society, this year I’m raising money to help rebuild Nepal, through the Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT), who are working on the ground in the some of the worst hit areas by the Earthquake on April 25th 2015.

I have an affinity with Nepal having spent nearly a month there several years ago. The people are warm, kind and generous and have suffered immeasurably over the last few months since the succession of earthquakes. The rainy season is about to begin and further compound the situation.
The Nepalese people have supported us for Generations in various guises, from the Gurkhas to welcoming travellers and expeditions. I now believe it is time to support them
What is Ironman?
Just in case you are unaware of the Ironman Event which must be completed in under 17 hours:-
· 2.4 mile swim in Carmarthen Bay followed by
· 112 mile cycle through the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and a
· Marathon run of 26.2 miles through the medieval town walls, picturesque beachfront of Tenby and hills above
By competing in this challenge, which is regarded as one of the toughest in the world, I want to inspire you to both contribute and perhaps have a go of things yourselves in the future. If I can do it, so can you!
