The Sigma Chi Fraternity of Northern Arizona University would like to invite you/your company to participate in our annual philanthropy event, Derby Days. Derby Days is one of the biggest events on NAU’s campus, taking place this year from April 3rd to April 8th. The past 3 years we have rasied more than $40,000. The donation you or your company would make is TAX DEDUCTABLE using our tax ID # 86-6057307, and this year the money raised from our event will benefit multiple charitable organizations:
-THE HUNTSMAN CANCER INSTITUTE(HCI)
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah and founded by Sigma Chi alumnus Jon M. Huntsman, HCI’s purpose is to find a cure for cancer using the latest and most innovative genetics technologies. http://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute
-MATTS CHEMO BAGS:
A non-profit organization founded by our own Brother, Matt Ferguson, while he was in high school. This organization makes and delivers care bags for women going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. Founded in 2009, Matt’s Chemo Bags is constantly expanding and has currently delivered in 5 states. http://www.mattschemobags.com
-For the first time in NAU Sigma Chi history a portion of our funds raised will be donated to the winning sorority’s philanthropy of choice. Derby Days is not just about Sigma Chi; it is about making a difference and we would like to reciprocate the generosity put forth by all the wonderful ladies participating in Derby Days.
-Camp Kesem:
A week long, completly free camp for kids who have parents with cancer or have passed away from cancer. It costs $500 to send each kid to camp and we will be using part of the donations we receive to pay the way for these kids to attend the camp!
The Sigma Chi Fraternity would like to humbly ask for a donation of any size from you/your company in order to help raise money for these worthy causes. Our Fraternity strives to develop high minded men that pursue the ideals of making an impact in the lives of others, thus we would not ask for a donation if we did not fully believe in the missions of these organizations.
