The Star Project- NBA affiliated

Northwest Behavioral Associates (NBA), founded in 1999, is the oldest non-profit in Washington state serving children with Autism and other special needs, as well as their families.  NBA utilizes the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to provide individualized services to an incredibly wide range of children, ages 1.5 to 24 years and beyond.  Our programs include: individual therapy in the form of weekly sessions, both in-center and at-home, as well as Social and Community-Based Instruction groups. In addition, NBA provides training to teachers, parents, other school personnel, and members of our community on an on-going basis.  

Stacey Shook, PhD, BCBA-D, NBA’s Director, has been working closely with families of children and youth with autism in Amman, Jordan, since 2001.  In that time she has provided training and oversight for several schools and a wealth of individuals as a means of broadening the scope of services in the country.  It has been a 14 year long dream to initiate a formal branch of NBA in Amman and now, because of the commitment of clinicians and parents alike, this dream is becoming a reality. Indeed, the Star Project, affiliated with NBA is in its first major phase of development. We are raising funds to secure a space, thereby creating the Star Project's Center, to house our clinicians and clients, offer staff trainings, as well as obtain needed materials and technology.
