Our daughter Hafey has not had a virus infection before this, she was only healthy.
ITP ( Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura ) is very rare and mysterious sickness. Doctors do not know what is causing it. It came on so suddenly around April 20th with small blood spots under her skin appearing on her legs and hands mainly.
She is 13 years old, so her youth is in her favour.
They removed her spleen to try to shut down immune function. They did another operation to correct the bleeding from open veins, as she was bleeding internally. It is desperate now, she is not making platelets on her own. She is receiving daily a continuous supply of haemoglobin and especially platelets from about 15 donors on average.
She has been in coma for more than 2 weeks. The bleeding in her brain made too much swelling that is why they keep her asleep.
The doctors began to add new drugs for supporting the creation of platelets affecting her bone marrow and B cells.
So far there is no substantial improvement in respect to solving the ITP problem.
